We design interior and exterior ironwork to suit your needs, whether you need sketch ideas or technical working drawings. Architects, landscapers and gardeners commission us to design and produce creative features and details to enhance private and public spaces. Traditional forgework is a dying art but it is the link between fabricated metalwork and art and can work to great effect. Visit our sculpture page to see unique pieces.

Elaborate and interesting metalwork involves detailed design. David Freedman studied art for many years and worked as an architects draughtsman. Aside from designing bespoke ironwork he produces designs for a commercial furniture consultancy in London.

Design styles vary from contemporary to historical and often incorporate elements of both to produce pieces that suit their surroundings

This design for a chandelier produced for Saint Bartholomew's Church, Church Minshull, an early 18th century village church.

The chandelier was designed with modern aspects but following a baroque tradition. It was made to replace one that was believed to have hung above the pulpit of the church. All that remained of the old chandelier was the hanging loop in the church ceiling, so several metres of traditionally looped chain were made to suspend the chandelier.

Architectural detail for proposed pedestrian barriers for an urban park, replacing grey tubular safety barriers with a more appealing entrance to a public space.

Landscapers and architects can commission Mill Forge to design and produce architectural features to enhance projects, often at similar cost to mass produced or factory made components.
